Crowns and Bridges Kellyville
Each of our durable dental crowns and bridges is hand-designed by Australian labs and comes with a 5-year warranty. We customise each restoration so that it replicates the teeth around it, blending in with your overall smile. Only the most aesthetic and durable ceramic materials are used.
Same day CEREC crowns
At Kellyville Smiles we use the CEREC Primemill, is different than the traditional crown, it is highly precise as we use the 3D digital intra-oral scanner to scan the teeth and has a natural appearance that blends really well with the patient’s natural teeth so
No more need for temporary restoration.
No more need to wait for weeks for the laboratory processing time
No more need for the unpleasant impression technique.
No more sensitivity of the gums and the teeth between the visits.
Custom Dental Crowns
Crowns are restorations that restore severely broken or previously restored teeth (such as those with large, old fillings). Instead of going inside of your tooth, they slip over it completely. You might need a crown if you have a large fracture, cavity or recently got a root canal in the affected tooth.
Older crown designs used to be made out of porcelain fused to a metal base. But since we select durable ceramics for our patients, they prove to be more aesthetic and long-lasting.
The Crown Treatment Process
Getting a dental crown usually requires two separate visits. During the first, we’ll prep your tooth by reducing it slightly, so that there’s room for a crown to fit over it. Next, we’ll take impressions to create a mould of the prepped tooth, then send it to one of our labs where your permanent crown is designed.
Your second visit will be a couple of weeks later. We’ll remove any temporary crown and then try in your permanent one. We want to make sure that everything looks and feels as it ought to. If it does and you’re happy with the results, we’ll cement it into place with special dental glue.
Fixed Dental Bridges
Bridges follow a fairly similar procedure as dental crowns, but instead of restoring broken teeth, they’re used to replace missing ones. Either end of the bridge is set on top of a healthy tooth (or dental implant), suspending the replacement tooth across the gap.
A bridge is both aesthetic and functional. Not only does it address the cosmetic concerns of having a missing tooth, but it’s also durable enough to withstand normal biting and chewing use.
Caring for Your New Restoration
Although our crowns and bridges are durable and backed by a warranty, they still need to be cared for properly. Otherwise, plaque can accumulate around the edges and interfere with the health of the tooth in those areas.
Gently brush along the edges of your fixed restoration, followed by flossing. With good home care and regular checkups, you can expect your new crown or bridge to last several years.
